God allowed the Midianites to oppress the Israelites, his own people for seven years. Why? The Israelites had sinned against God. howerver, it was time for God to restore His people. It was at this time that God called Gideon to help the people to fight.

Gideon was at the farm one day, threshing some wheat secretly because of the enemies. God sent an angel to him, asking him to go with all strength and rescue Israel from their oppressors, the Midianites But Gideon was afraid to go because they were strong

God assured him that He will help him and grant him victory over the Midianites. Gideon gathered the army of Israel and prepared for the battle.However God told Gideon to reduce his armies because, He wanted to use only few men to go to the battle field.

Gideon thought his soldiers are too few yet believed God God asked him to visit the camp of the Midianite There he overheard a Midianite soldier narrating his dream and interpretation to his fellow Gideon worshipped God Thus He became brave and courageous
